If you feel like you get down on yourself more often than you'd like, or struggle with being gentle with yourself when you're experiencing difficult emotions, you might want to explore building a practice in self compassion.
Self compassion is about befriending the body, mind and heart.
Self compassion invites us to turn to ourselves with kindness and ask "what do I need more of right now, and how can I provide care for myself right now?"
Kristen Kneff says" “When we tend to ourselves with care, we change our brain chemistry. Rather than feeling worried, anxious and stress, we feel calm, content, secure and trusting”. The first of Patanjali's limbs of yoga is ahimsa- which means "non-harm" or "kindness". Coming to our mats is a beautiful and effective way to practice this act of non-harm and kindness to ourselves.
In this introductory workshop we'll understand the principles of self compassion, familiarize ourselves with our self compassion baseline, befriend our inner critic and get to know our compassionate coach.
Dress comfortably and bring your journal, an open-mind and an open heart.
